I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 Warn the men. 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
