Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
