The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
