The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
