Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
