Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 These are the verses of the sagacious Book, 2 As guidance and mercy for the doers of good 3 people who are steadfast in prayer, pay the religious tax, and have firm belief in the life to come. 4 They are on guidance from their Lord, and will prosper. 5 Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. 8 To abide therein. It is a Promise of Allah in truth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars that you see and cast on the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with you. Upon it He dispersed all manner of crawling thing, and He sent down water from the sky with which He caused to grow in it every generous kind. 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
