۞ O men, it is you who stand in need of God. As for God, He is above all need, worthy of praise. 15 If He wills, He can take you away and bring other creatures. 16 This would not cost God dear at all. 17 No laden soul shall bear another's load. If one is heavy burdened and calls for his load to be carried, nothing of it will be carried, not even if he is a close relative. You warn only those who fear their Lord in the Unseen, and establish the prayer. He who purifies himself, purifies himself for the good of his own soul. To Allah is the arrival. 18 The blind and the seeing are not alike; 19 nor are the darkness and the light; 20 Nor the shade and the sun's heat. 21 and neither are equal the living and the dead [of heart]. Behold, [O Muhammad,] God can make hear whomever He wills, whereas thou canst not make hear such as are [dead of heart like the dead] in their graves: 22 Thou art no other than a warner. 23 Verily We have sent thee in truth, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner: and there never was a people, without a warner having lived among them (in the past). 24 And if these disbelievers deny you, those before them had also denied; their Noble Messengers came to them with clear proofs and scriptures and the bright Book. 25 So We seized the unbelievers. How great was the change I wrought in their condition then! 26
