The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WOE unto every slanderer, fault-finder! 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
