The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
