Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha. Mim. 1 This is the revelations from the Beneficent, Merciful God. 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your Allah is one Allah, therefore follow the right way to Him and ask His forgiveness; and woe to the polytheists; 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
