And [so, O Prophet,] if they give thee the lie, say: "To me [shall be accounted] my doings, and to you, your doings: you are not accountable for what I am doing, and I am not accountable for whatever you do." 41 And there are those of them who hear you, but can you make the deaf to hear though they will not understand? 42 Some of them look to you. But can you guide the blind, even though they do not see? 43 Verily, God does not do the least wrong unto men, but it is men who wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He shall gather them together, (when it will seem) as though they had tarried but an hour of the day, recognising one another, those will verily have perished who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided. 45 Whether We show you something of what We have promised them or cause you to die [before that], to Us they shall return. God is Witness to all that they do. 46 And for each community there hath been sent an apostle; and when their apostle hath arrived, the matter between them is decreed in equity, and they are not wronged. 47 And they say: "When will be this promise (the torment or the Day of Resurrection), - if you speak the truth?" 48 Say: "I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except as Allah willeth. To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation)." 49 Say: Have ye thought: When His doom cometh unto you as a raid by night, or in the (busy) day; what is there of it that the guilty ones desire to hasten? 50 And when it comes to pass, will you believe in it? What! now (you believe), and already you wished to have it hastened on. 51 Then the unjust will be told, “Taste the punishment forever; and you will be repaid only what you used to earn.” 52 They ask you to tell them if it is true. Say: 'Yes, by my Lord! It is true, and you cannot frustrate it' 53
