And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
