Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 storming tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 until an appointed time? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
