And those who did not believe in My signs and in meeting Me, are those who have no hope of My mercy, and for them is a painful punishment. 23 Now [as for Abraham,] his people's only answer was, "Slay him, or burn him!" - but God saved him from the fire. Behold, in this [story] there are messages indeed for people who will believe! 24 Abraham said, "You believe in idols besides God only out of worldly love, but on the Day of Judgment you will reject and condemn each other. Your dwelling will be fire and no one will help you." 25 ۞ So Lut believed in him; and Ibrahim said, “I migrate towards my Lord; indeed only He is the Almighty, the Wise.” 26 And [as for Abraham,] We bestowed upon him Isaac and [Isaac's son] Jacob, and caused prophethood and revelation to continue among his offspring. And We vouchsafed him his reward in this world; and verily, in the life to come [too] he shall find himself among the righteous. 27 And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds. 28 Do you engage in carnal relations with men, rob the travellers, and commit evil in your gatherings? His people had no answer but to say, "Bring upon us the torment of God if you are truthful". 29 Lot said: “My Lord, aid me against these mischievous people.” 30
