Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 Thamud, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
