By no means! By the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning for people -- 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 About the criminals, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
