Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 "Go to what you used to deny; 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is it timed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 "Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
