The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 On a grievous day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
