The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
