And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
