And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
