Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
