Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
