The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
