A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and follow no friends other than He; little do you remember. 3 And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 And when Our Might fell upon them they only said: 'We have indeed been harmdoers' 5 So undoubtedly We shall question those to whom Our Noble Messengers went, and indeed We shall question the Noble Messengers. 6 So indeed We shall inform them with Our knowledge and We were not absent. 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs. 9 And indeed We established you in the earth and in it created for you the means of livelihood; very little thanks do you offer! 10
