It is He who sends down water from the sky of which you drink, and which nourishes the plants you feed your cattle, 10 He causes to grow for you thereby herbage, and the olives, and the palm trees, and the grapes, and of all the fruits; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who reflect. 11 And He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient [to His laws, so that they be of use] to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command: in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who use their reason! 12 All that He has created for you on the earth are of different colors. In this there is evidence of the Truth for the people who take heed. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea that you may eat fresh fish from it and bring forth ornaments from it that you can wear. And you see ships ploughing their course through it so that you may go forth seeking His Bounty and be grateful to Him. 14 And He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and rivers and ways; so haply you will be guided; 15 as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way. 16 Is then the One Who creates like the one who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 And if ye would count the favours of Allah ye could not compute them; verily Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you disclose. 19 Those unto whom they cry beside Allah created naught, but are themselves created. 20 Dead are they, not alive; and they perceive not when they will be raised up. 21
