Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
