The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of later ages, 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
