Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
