And undoubtedly Haroon had told them before it that, “O my people – you have needlessly fallen into trial because of this; and indeed your Lord is the Most Gracious, therefore follow me and obey my command.” 90 They replied, "We shall not cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 (Musa) said: O Haroun! what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 "From following me? Didst thou then disobey my order?" 93 He said: O son of my mother! seize me not by my beard nor by my head; surely I was afraid lest you should say: You have caused a division among the children of Israel and not waited for my word. 94 Said [Moses]: "What, then, didst thou have in view, O Samaritan?" 95 He answered: "I saw what the people did not see. So I took a handful of dust from the trail of the Messenger, and I flung it (into the fire). Thus did my mind prompt me." 96 (Moses) said: "Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, 'touch me not'; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!" 97 Your God is only the One God; there is no god, but He alone who in His knowledge embraces everything.' 98 (O Muhammad), thus do We recount to you the events of the past, and We have bestowed upon you from Ourself an admonition. 99 Whoever turns aside from it, he shall surely bear a burden on the day of resurrection 100 They will abide in that (state in the Fire of Hell), and evil indeed will it be that load for them on the Day of Resurrection; 101 the Day when the Trumpet shall be sounded and We shall muster the sinners, their eyes turned blue with terror. 102 whispering unto one another, "You have spent but ten [days on earth] 103 We are the Best Knower of that which they will say, when the best of them in judgment will say: ye tarried not save for a day. 104
