This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
