Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 And not a prophet came unto them but him they were wont to mock. 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
