And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade; 36 And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided 37 Until when he comes before Us he will say (to the devil): "Would to God there was a distance of the East and West between you and me, for you were an evil companion!" 38 (He will then be told): “Today it will not benefit you the least that after your wrong-doing you and your satans now share the chastisement.” 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to what We have divinely revealed to you; indeed you are upon the Straight Path. (The Holy Prophets can never go astray). 43 It is indeed a Reminder to you and to your nation, and without doubt you shall be questioned. 44 You can ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We had commanded them to worship other gods besides the Beneficent God?" 45
