Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 They used to say before: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That they would be helped, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
