Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HA MIM. 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your Allah is one Allah, therefore follow the right way to Him and ask His forgiveness; and woe to the polytheists; 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
