The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not put yourselves forward in the presence of [what] God and His Apostle [may have ordained,] but remain conscious of God: for, verily, God is all-hearing, all-knowing! 1 O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not. 2 They who speak in a low voice in the presence of God's Apostle, have had their hearts tried by God for reverence. There is forgiveness for them and a great reward. 3 Many of those who call you from outside the apartments are not considerate. 4 If they were patient until you went out to them, that would have been better for them. Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. 5 Believers, when an ungodly person brings to you a piece of news, carefully ascertain its truth, lest you should hurt a people unwittingly and thereafter repent at what you did. 6 And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune: But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;- 7 By grace from Allah and as a favor; and Allah is Knowing, Wise. 8 If two parties of the believers happen to fight, make peace between them. But then, if one of them transgresses against the other, fight the one that transgresses until it reverts to Allah's command. And if it does revert, make peace between them with justice, and be equitable for Allah loves the equitable. 9 Surely the believers are none but brothers unto one another, so set things right between your brothers, and have fear of Allah that you may be shown mercy. 10
