The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Then after that you will most surely die. 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
