Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a high garden 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
