He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 To him you give attention. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 and fearfully, 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
