The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 and said, 'What, shall we follow a mortal, one out of ourselves? Then indeed we should be in error and insanity! 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 (To him We said): 'Tomorrow they shall know who is the arrogant liar. 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And tell them that the water [of the well] is to be divided between them, and that each one should drink in turn." 28 But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her). 29 How terrible was My punishment and warning. 30 Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 32 The people of Lut rejected (his) warning. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 As grace from Us. Thus We reward him who giveth thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 One early morning Our torment brought upon them utter destruction. 38 So now taste My punishment and My commination! 39 Surely We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 40
