Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
