The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
