The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
