Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 Nay, in time you will come to understand! 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)! 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
