And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor a loving friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
