50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
