So when the envoys came to the household of Lot, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
