Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By thy life, in their intoxication they were wandering bewildered. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
