So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
