(And recount to them the story of Moses) when Moses said to his servant: "I will journey on until I reach the point where the two rivers meet, though I may march on for ages." 60 But when they came to the point where the two met, they forgot their fish, which made its way burrowing into the sea. 61 And when the twain had passed by, he said unto his page: bring us our morning-meal, assuredly we have met from this journey of ours, toil 62 He said: Didst thou see, when we took refuge on the rock, and I forgot the fish - and none but Satan caused me to forget to mention it - it took its way into the waters by a marvel. 63 Said Moosa, “This is exactly what we wanted”; so they came back retracing their steps. 64 So they found a bondman* from amongst Our (chosen) bondmen, to whom We had given mercy from Us, and had bestowed the inspired knowledge from Ourselves. (* Hazrat Khidr – peace be upon him.) 65 Moses said unto him: May I follow thee, to the end that thou mayst teach me right conduct of that which thou hast been taught? 66 He replied, "You will not be able to bear with me patiently. 67 'For how can you bear patiently with that which you have never encompassed in your knowledge' 68 [Moses] said, "You will find me, if Allah wills, patient, and I will not disobey you in [any] order." 69 He (Khidr) said: "Then, if you follow me, ask me not about anything till I myself mention it to you." 70
